Parisian Art Nouveau metro stations

[rolygate]

Nice picture of a Parisian metro entrance on the website of one of our pals - have a look. Shame about the fat Brit in the pink shirt though - really lowers the tone of the place.

How come we didn’t bomb that flat in the war, then?

As you say, Nick, what a superb example of Guimard that Abbesses entrance is. And no, this recent edit was in no way designed to influence the search results for ‘Guimard Abbesses‘ - how could you think such a thing?

We didn’t bomb it flat because de Gaulle and his chums were on our side, the locals would probably have got the hump and Paris wasn’t of fundamental industrial importance to the German war machine. Perhaps more surprising is that the Germans didn’t raze it to the ground when they left - see our Paris section for a brief discussion thereof.

Your search optimisation efforts reflect the engines’ weakness when they look for form and can’t distinguish substance - although those nice people at Yahoo! seem to have prioritised correctly!

    Pip! Pip!

This search engine stuff is fun, isn’t it? Check out ‘Guimard Abbesses’ now and weep!
